Bittersweet Symphony This Life..

So.. I have two swallows like the one to the left... and I knew that it meant you'll always come back home and you were loyal.. but thanks to wikianswer, I found out some other interesting facts about the swallow and old time sailors, but apparently if you have them on your hands you're a swinger.. glad mine are on my shoulders :)

I got the tattoo in memory of my cousin Lance that passed away. He was killed on his motorcycle in September 2008. He was such a bubbly guy and always had a smile on his face. It reminds me to cherish every day and remember that life is too short to sweat the small things. He was my second cousin that was taken away from me at a young age. My cousin Andrew was stabbed and killed in a parking ramp in Minneapolis. Life is bittersweet, and it's hard to go through with the "everything happens for a reason," when things like that happen. But it definitely makes you stronger. It's always hard to think about, but positivity and knowing he's in a safe place makes me feel relieved. Everytime I have a Busch Light, I know it's for Lance.

So aside from that on a positive note, it's Memorial weekend and I am thrilled to have three days off. Life has been chaotic since I've moved to Colorado and I can't wait to spend some time with Dan.... so here we are.. doesn't he look happy.

Okay so as I was writing this blog entry... the song Bittersweet Symphony came on by the Verve... now I am a bit creeped out.... not a fan of coincidence or possessive things happening around me that I didn't intend. Which is kind of weird because I like to learn about old myths, and different types of myths and tall tales from different places around the world.

Lay me down

Meet Stella Rae Jewison. She's the latest addition to the Jewison legacy. She was born May 22, 2010. Her older brother Hudson is jsut over 3 years old. My parents say she looks like me, if anyother similarities arise, my brother is in trouble.... I'm pretty stoked to have a baby niece! I Am going back to Minnesota in July, I can't wait to meet her.
That is my brother and Hudson with her the day she was born.

Colorado the beautiful. This picture is from Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. That's Pikes Peak in the background. Later this day we went up to Pikes Peak. The elecvation will really get you. I am in love with the scenery here. Don't get me wrong, I'm a city girl... but I love the outdoors. There's no mosquitos here which is pretty killer. Except the people here are NOT Minnesota nice.... AT ALL and they drive like idiots.. I'm learning to deal with it, but seriously makes me want to slowly hurt someone. ha

I left my head and my heart on the dance floor

Since I recently moved to Denver, I thought I would share pics of how adorable our townhome is! It's huge and it's absolutely perfect for the three of us!

I do miss Minneapolis though, so beautiful.. I took this one my my last days there.

A lot of fun times were had downtown Minneapolis... such a beautiful city and no matter what I'll always love it :)

And just when I think Minneapolis couldn't be any more beautiful, Colorado continues to amaze me with it's beauty. I stare at Pikes Peak everyday during the week in Colorado Springs... it's amazing.

Since I'm in the photo uploading mood, I might as well share the beautiful Alamo. I went to San Antonio last month for a leadership conference, mind you it rained the entire time, we still had fun. I'm glad I got to stay on the riverwalk and see the Alamo.

So back to the interesting stuff, what the hell have I been up to? Well last night we went to the Sage Francis show at the Gothic Theatre for $20.00! I wasn't a huge Sage fan, but it was a dope show. B. Dolan was amazing as well. I can't wait for the new iPhone with zoom and a camera, until then here's the best I could do...

Rocky Mountain Way...

Has is been a hectic past month!
I am living in Denver, Colorado presently! I transferred my job to come live out here and be closer to Dan. I finally got the call to be out here! SO I packed up my stuff and 5 days later, here I am! I absolutely love it! It's so gorgeous. I will be posting pics soon, so don't get too excited!

I'm baaaaaack....

Anyway, so word up to CO! I've been here since May 1st. Finally got my job transfer and now have a townhome in Denver. Dan and me are doing great, I couldn't be happier. I'm positive he's the one for me...little did I know this back in high school... would've saved me a lot of heartache. I've been pretty domisticated planting flowers, cooking, cleaning, laundry. I am so used to living alone it's double the work, but Dan works hard so I know he appreciates it. This coming Saturday will be our 9 month anniversary together, even though we've known eachother our whole lives pretty much. I am loving my job here, a lot less stress, the people are great. I am a bit homesick and miss my momma and poppa but I'll survive.

It's just a constant reminder of what a blessing everyday is and what a gift we have. I get really annoyed when I see people on like Facebook whining about their life or their kids.. get a job or find something better to do... nobody needs to be miserable with you.

So anyway, I'm working in the beautiful Colorado Springs for the time being until our campus in South Denver gets opened. The drive can be rough down here but I'll survive.
